Nick Fitzgerald is one of the top quarterbacks in the SEC. After not ending the season the way they had hoped, he is ready to get back into the game.

Fitzgerald suffered a gruesome ankle injury in the Egg Bowl against Ole Miss last year that ended his season. After lots of rehab and exercise, Fitzgerald says he is ready to go for this season and expects to be even better.

At the SEC Media Days, Fitzgerald spoke a lot about how last season wasn’t what he had hoped and they have been preparing extra for this season. Mississippi State is a tough opponent to face, always being one of the top teams in the SEC West. Fitzgerald talked about how they almost beat Alabama and had other good games against talented teams, but need to work on those little plays that make a big difference. Fitzgerald said each player just has to do their 1/11 and if they do that, then they will be perfect.

Fitzgerald mentioned how last season, he had 25-30 carries each game. For a quarterback particularly, that is tough on your body. Especially after his injury last season, Fitzgerald mentioned how he won’t be running the ball as much this season and we will see more zone reads from the Bulldog offense.

With new head coach Joe Moorhead and Fitzgerald healthy and ready to play, there will be high expectations for this Bulldog team this season.
